SB 36 (Dismantling Occupational Licensing Barriers for Ex-Offenders)
Libertas Institute supports this bill. This bill makes it easier for ex-offenders to enter the workforce by dismantling discriminatory barriers to occupational licensing.
Libertas supports this bill. This bill further removes lingering language about "moral character" or "moral turpitude." By doing so this bill makes it easier for ex-offenders to enter the workforce. Additionally, it may reduce recidivism rates, increase economic opportunity for ex-offenders, strengthen the labor market, and foster a society that is more forgiving of those who may have made unfortunate mistakes in the past. |
