Sponsored Ranked Bills
This legislator was the sponsor of the following bills, which were ranked by Libertas Institute in their respective year's Legislator Index.
- SB27: Reauthorization of Massage Therapy Licensure Act (2014)
This bill extended the sunset date of massage therapy occupational licensure by 10 years, to 2024.
Libertas Institute opposed this bill, as we oppose occupational licensure generally. Massage therapists should not need the permission of the state to offer their services to others, nor should they be made to jump through bureaucratic hoops as a condition of engaging in commerce (submit an application, pay a fee, attend school for a certain number of hours, take an exam, etc.).
This bill passed the Senate 28-0 and passed the House 63-7. Libertas supports a "nay" vote.
