This year alone, over 100,000 children will participate and embark on their entrepreneurial journeys.

Donor Communications Manager

The opportunity: engage and inspire donors by crafting compelling stories and visually polished materials that showcase Libertas Network’s impact, strengthen donor relationships, and increase supporter retention and giving.

The Libertas Network is an award-winning association of family-facing initiatives that change hearts, minds, and laws to create a freer future. We’re known primarily for three major programs: our innovative policy reforms that have changed over 100 laws to increase freedom; our Tuttle Twins children’s books that have sold over six million copies and have been turned into a hit cartoon series; and our Children’s Entrepreneur Market project helping kids age 5-17 launch a (very!) small business.

Put simply: we have lots of stories to tell and need help telling them—particularly to our donors. We are on the lookout for an engaging storyteller with a keen design eye who can both write and produce engaging updates for our supporters.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience in communications—writing, editing, typesetting, graphic design, etc. Reporting to our VP of Communications, this role is part-time and remote with flexible hours that will vary week to week, likely averaging 15-20 hours per week.

You will be responsible for:

  • Creating a 12-page quarterly publication to be mailed to donors, managing all aspects—planning, story development and drafting, copyediting, design, coordinating with print shop, etc.
  • Writing and sending persuasive email solicitations twice monthly to low-dollar donors
  • Writing and sending periodic program-specific email updates to donors
  • Creating a quarterly Canva deck for Libertas Network’s president to record an update for donors
  • Helping as needed on prospecting communications including email and direct mail letters

You will bring to the role your:

  • Storytelling Excellence – proven ability to translate complex policy and programmatic work into clear, emotionally resonant donor stories.
  • Design & Visual Communication – mastery of InDesign, Canva, or Adobe Suite with a portfolio of polished print/digital donor materials.
  • Donor-Centric Writing – persuasive writing tailored to philanthropic audiences; strong understanding of donor psychology.
  • Project Management – ability to independently manage multi-stage creative projects (from concept to print/mail) on time and error-free.
  • Attention to Detail – flawless grammar, consistency, and formatting across all outputs.
  • Learning Agility – ability to quickly understand new initiatives, policy reforms, or children’s projects and communicate them clearly.
  • Cultural Alignment – demonstrating enthusiasm for our freedom-focused mission, entrepreneurial energy, and collaborative spirit.
  • Results Orientation – track record of measurable outcomes (e.g., improved open rates, increased donor engagement, or growth in giving)

You will enjoy:

  • Competitive compensation, commensurate with experience
  • Flexible schedule
  • Making a difference with an organization that is materially improving people’s lives

You’ll fit in if you:

  • Have a passion for freedom, entrepreneurship, and family-strengthening initiatives
  • Thrive in a remote, entrepreneurial, high-accountability environment
  • See feedback as fuel for growth and are open to iteration and improvement
  • Display humility and mission-first focus—no ego-driven work

Expectations

90 Days

  • Build strong familiarity with Libertas Network’s mission, programs, and donor base to ensure accurate and compelling storytelling.
  • Draft, design, and send at least four persuasive donor emails (solicitations and updates), tracking open and click-through rates for benchmarking.
  • Finalize email and mail list segmentation to ensure that the correct people receive the correct updates.
  • Produce Q4 publication from start to finish, highlighting the success of 2025, ensuring it meets brand/design standards and resonates with donor audiences.

6 Months

  • Demonstrate measurable improvement in donor email engagement metrics (e.g., higher open and click-through rates compared to baseline).
  • Establish a reliable workflow with the communications team and vendors to ensure all donor-facing projects are delivered on schedule.
  • Achieve deep understanding of Libertas programs, how to communicate in the voice of Libertas’ president, and take ownership over all donor communications without direction.

1 Year

  • Successfully complete all four donor publications, showing measurable impact on donor retention and giving through post-campaign analysis.
  • Create a library of polished donor communication assets (email templates, Canva decks, design elements) to streamline ongoing campaigns.
  • Demonstrate tangible results in donor engagement and giving—such as improved response rates, increased donor retention, or higher giving levels that can be attributed to communications efforts.
  • Produce two prospecting email campaigns and one direct mail campaign for the Children’s Entrepreneur Market, Tuttle Twins, and Praxis programs, as well as Libertas Network as a whole.

To Apply

Qualified candidates should submit the following application materials to michael@libertas.org in an email with the subject line “Donor Communications Manager”:
