Mark Cunningham Joins the Libertas Network as VP of Communications

The Libertas Network continues to grow and is pleased to announce Mark Cunningham as our new Vice President of Communications. In this capacity, Mark’s will oversee communications efforts for our various projects and brands, including Libertas Institute’s policy work, the Children’s Entrepreneur Market community programs, the Tuttle Twins family outreach, the Overton Poll, and much more.

Prior to joining Libertas, Mark was VP of Communications and Strategy at the Beacon Center of Tennessee, a state-based think tank in Nashville, where he worked for nearly 11 years. Mark’s efforts led to Beacon being recognized as the most heard and seen organization in the state of Tennessee, garnering tens of thousands of media hits ranging from the Wall Street Journal and Fox News to Teen Vogue and MSNBC. Mark also founded and directed the critically acclaimed Beacon Poll, the first regular political poll in Tennessee, leading to over $100 million in earned media and national attention for the Beacon Center. In addition, he served as Beacon’s chief spokesman, led the organization’s comprehensive marketing efforts to educate the public on important policy issues, served as the main point of contact for news and print media, and directed the organization’s short and long-term communications strategy.

In addition to free markets, Mark loves watching all sports which includes cheering for the Utah Jazz and Marquette basketball. Mark currently lives in Franklin, Tennessee with his wife Kera and his 4 pound Maltipoo Sloane (named after legendary Jazz coach Jerry Sloan).
